About the Mediterranean Bakery

The Mediterranean Bakery and Deli was the first of its kind in Richmond. Twenty eight years ago it started as a pita bread bakery and expanded to include groceries imported from the middle east.

 The current owners, Jameel and Saba Abed bought the business seven years ago and added many improvements, making it the best Mediterranean food service in the Richmond area.

Customers drive hundreds of miles to shop at this bakery, a testament to insistence on the highest standards of excellence.


The Mediterranean Bakery and Deli also provides catering services to the Virginia area.

In 1998, the bakery moved from its original location of twenty-five years (on Horsepen Road) to its present home at 9004 Quioccasin Road. 

We specialize in mostly Middle Eastern foods and also carry some Greek, Italian and Indian products.
